Welcome to the Parliamentary Knowledge Schemes

Knowledge From Experience

We are building MPs’ knowledge through experience.

PKS is a not-for-profit social enterprise developed under the patronage of The Speaker.
We equip our teachers, engineers, medics and scientists with the ongoing tools and experience they need to do their jobs well and it is wholly appropriate that we do the same for our MPs.

Made up of a combination of workshops and roundtables, site visits and hands-on opportunities, the Schemes have been designed to facilitate real-world learning through practical experience.

Funded through a combination of contributions from employers, philanthropic foundations and international grants, we are engaging MPs across the House in a series of structured and well-organised learning Schemes.

"As Patron of the Parliamentary Knowledge Schemes, I am delighted to support this important initiative that is changing how Parliament engages with practical knowledge and expertise.

The Parliamentary Knowledge Schemes provide Members of Parliament with structured learning opportunities that connect them directly with frontline professionals, volunteers and experts. Through these programmes, MPs gain real-world insights from businesses, charities, institutions, and public service organisations, helping them understand how policy decisions affect communities and how different sectors interact."

Working with Us

Partnerships are at the heart of everything we are, and everything we do.

From our cross-party structure to the multi-sector programmes we run, our aim is to bring everyone together and to foster an open, collaborative relationship between parliament and business.

The benefits of participation are, of course, mutual. For partners, PKS offers an exceptional forum to showcase your organisation, share expertise, and help shape the business landscape. Each scheme will provide unparalleled time for MPs, on the ground, where they can gain real context for your organisation’s key challenges and opportunities.

It is also a chance to learn about MPs’ roles and specialisms, and explore intersections with business, the wider economy and the communities you employ and serve.
